1. Intake
Water is diverted from the
river to the intake
2. Tunnel
Water is conveyed through the power tunnel excavated in
rock (total length of 291m)
3. Powerhouse
Water activates the turbines in the powerhouse.
The head, difference of elevation between the upstream water level
and the downstream water level, is 35m
The first 241m section of the tunnel is unlined. Natural Rock cover
is sufficient to resist water pressure.
The last 50m section of the tunnel is steel lined to resist water
pressure and avoid losses of water and power.
Two parameters determine the capacity of an hydroelectric Project:
1. The flow (m3/s or cms) which activate the Turbine/Generator
Group
2. The head of water which increases the water movement.
